Third Dose/Fourth Dose

Third Dose Eligible groups:

1. All Individuals 12 Years and Older

  • Individuals must be 12 or over at the time of their appointment.
  • For individuals 18+ third dose must be scheduled a minimum of 3 months (84 days) after the second dose.
  • For individuals 12-17 third dose must be scheduled a minimum of 6 months (168 days) after the second dose.
  • Moderate to severe immune compromised individuals who are 5+ are eligible for a third dose 2 months (56 days) after the second dose to complete their primary series. Proof of condition is required at the clinic.

Every vaccination requires informed consent prior to administration. As part of our informed consent process, Lambton Public Health immunizers will provide a consultation at the clinic for each booster vaccination for the 12-17 year old group. Please note that booster doses for 12-17 year olds have been authorized by the province of Ontario, but they have not been approved by Health Canada at this time. More information is available on the Government of Canada website.

Fourth Dose Eligible groups:

1. All Individuals 60 Years and Older

  • Individuals must be 60 or over at the time of their appointment.
  • For individuals 60+ fourth dose must be scheduled a minimum of 5 months (140 days) after the third dose.

2. Indigenous Individuals and Household Members 18 Years and Older

  • Individuals must be 18 or over at the time of their appointment.
  • For indigenous individuals 18 + fourth dose must be scheduled a minimum of 5 months (140 days) after the third dose.

3. High Risk Health Condition

  • Moderate to severe immune compromised individuals who are 18+ are eligible for a fourth dose/booster 3 months (84 days) after completing their 3 dose primary series.
  • Moderate to severe immune compromised individuals who are 12-17 are eligible for a fourth dose/booster 6 months (168 days) after completing their 3 dose primary series.

4. Residents of Long-Term Care Homes (LTCH), Retirement Homes (RH), Elder Care Lodges, and elderly living in other congregate settings (e.g. assisted-living facilities, chronic care hospitals)

  • For this group, third & fourth doses may be scheduled a minimum of 3 months (84 days) after the previous dose.
  • Residents of these facilities will receive vaccinations onsite and do not need to book an appointment.
