Walk-ins Welcome for All Ages & Doses at Most Local COVID-19 Vaccine Clinics

Point Edward, ON – Lambton Public Health (LPH) is now offering walk-ins for all ages and all doses of COVID-19 vaccine at the majority of its immunization clinics.

In order to avoid lines, appointments continue to be recommended, but are not required to receive a dose. LPH also continues to encourage residents to contact their local pharmacy or primary care provider for more information on availability at these specific locations and to address any concerns or questions they may have before scheduling an appointment or attending a clinic.

“We are in the home stretch,” said Dr. Sudit Ranade, Medical Officer of Health for the County of Lambton. “We have many available appointments at the clinics in February and we’re urging those who have not been vaccinated to do so now. We are starting to see a decline in bookings, so LPH will continue to offer clinics this month, but are basing future schedules on demand.”

Pfizer Supply

LPH is also happy to report that the provincial Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine supply has stabilized for the time being. Those under age 30 will continue to receive Pfizer for their 1st, 2nd or 3rd dose, and effective immediately, the Pfizer vaccine will be available to individuals 30 years of age and older.

“Vaccination continues to be the most important method of keeping yourself and your loved ones safe. If you are eligible, please book an appointment or attend a clinic today. Your health and the welfare of our health-care system depends on it,” continued Dr. Ranade.

Pop-Up Clinics

In order to remove barriers and make the COVID-19 vaccinations available to everyone in the community, LPH is hosting a number of pop-up clinics this month.

“It is critical this community increases its vaccination rates in children aged 5-11 years old and in its adult population (30-50 years old),” said Dr. Ranade. “Getting vaccinated against COVID-19 can lower your risk of getting the virus. It will also lessen the severity of the virus if you do contract it. If you already had COVID-19, you should still get a COVID-19 vaccine for added protection.”
