Health Information

Public health’s role involves supporting the community, clients, and stakeholders with information and services that relate to them. To support the conversation Health Information is organized according to the user:

  • You, or your child’s health
  • Settings – workplaces, restaurants, schools and daycares, etc.
  • Stakeholders – public health partners such as health-care providers and educators

Information is also organized into themes or topics. For example, Your Health and Your Kid’s Health have five main topics to help keep you and your family safe and healthy:

  • Stay Safe
  • Healthy Bodies
  • Healthy Minds
  • Healthy Relationships

If you are part of a workplace or a business owner, under the Healthy Places & Organizations page, each section is organized based on the type of organization.

Inspection Results

The Public Reports section consolidates inspections results. New Ontario Public Health Standards, implemented January 1, 2018, require additional settings to be inspected and results disclosed. Similar to the current DineSafe Lambton program for food safety and beach water quality postings, the new inspections include reports for :

  • Personal service settings
  • Recreational water facilities
  • Daycare facilities
  • Recreational camps
  • Small drinking water systems
  • Tobacco and vape product vendors
  • Schools for tobacco and vape product use
  • Clinical settings for infection prevention and control (IPAC) lapses

All information is now accessible from the website. An interactive map allows users to view results of public health inspections such as food premises and beaches in near real-time accuracy. Each inspection report is unique and detailed based on the specific reporting and disclosure requirements for that program.

Explore our inspection results tool by selecting a type of inspection then click “APPLY” or refine your results using the search field or status type.

Notice the map is populated with dots that reflect the specific locations. The location listings on the left provide a quick status summary and you may select a location for a more detailed report and history.

Future site upgrades include:

  • Secure content section for stakeholders (e.g., health-care providers and schools)
  • Data reports with information displayed in a user-friendly “dashboard” style
