Point Edward, ON – With the prediction of hot and humid weather expected for Wednesday and Thursday of this week, Environment and Climate Change Canada is issuing a Heat Warning for Lambton County.
Note: This Heat Warning will most likely be extended to Friday, August 13.
A heat warning is issued when two consecutive days are forecast to have a daytime high temperature greater than or equal to 31⁰C, and a nighttime temperature greater than or equal to 20⁰C or a humidex greater than 40⁰C.
In high temperatures and humidity, your body may not be able to cool properly which can lead to heat exhaustion or even heat stroke. Visit LambtonPublicHealth.ca for more information about extreme heat and your health and access a list of available cooling centre locations and the hours of operation. Due to COVID-19, cooling centres may be limited.
