Point Edward, ON – Lambton Public Health (LPH) is excited to announce a new surveillance report that provides the public with weekly updates on respiratory and enteric disease activity in Lambton County.
The newly launched Seasonal Infectious Diseases Bulletin is a user-friendly resource, providing weekly updates on respiratory and enteric disease activity, including COVID-19 and influenza, along with vital information on hospitalizations, fatalities, and active outbreaks in institutions including long-term care homes. This resource includes an array of interactive graphs, allowing users to easily compare local and provincial data,
and analyze historical trends.
Siobhan Churchill, Epidemiologist, shared her thoughts on the bulletin, stating, “We recognize that there is an overwhelming amount of information online about respiratory virus activity. In response, our aim is to offer Lambton County residents a singular, dependable resource for local data on respiratory and enteric virus activity.”
Several public health units across Ontario have launched similar information products to support their local communities, and others may be in the process of development.
The Seasonal Infectious Diseases Bulletin is readily accessible on the LPH website and will be updated every Friday afternoon, ensuring that the community stays well-informed about local trends.
