Point Edward, ON – Lambton Public Health (LPH) is investigating an outbreak at a Retirement Residence, declared on March 20. LPH received the laboratory-confirmed positive COVID-19 test result for one staff member at Fairwinds Lodge Retirement Residence, in Sarnia.
A long-term care or other communal living setting outbreak is declared when one or more COVID-19 cases is lab-confirmed in a staff member or resident with possible exposure to others in the setting.
“The individual who tested positive has been notified of their result,” states Chad Ikert, Manager of Health Protection for Lambton Public Health. “LPH is continuing to conduct case and contact management as part of the investigation. All necessary testing is underway”.
No additional details will be provided at this time based on the current needs of the investigation. All individuals impacted have been notified.
