Vaccine Pre-Registration Opens to 75+ and In-home Caregivers

Point Edward, ON – Lambton Public Health is opening pre-registration for individuals who are 75-79 years of age (or who are turning 75 this year). One in-home caregiver who resides in the same household as the 75+ year old person may also book their vaccination appointment.

If you are part of these eligible groups and would like to book an appointment please visit LPH’s Registration page. Once you’ve completed the pre-registration process, you will receive an invitation to schedule an immunization appointment directly.

“We have been administering vaccinations to 80+ year olds and their in-home caregivers at a faster rate than anticipated,” said Dr. Sudit Ranade, Medical Officer for Lambton Public Health. “We want to keep this momentum going, so we are opening pre-registration for the next group based on age. We will continue down this path, while we complete immunizations to other priority groups in Phase 1, based on the Province’s vaccine rollout schedule.”

A total of 12,653 doses of COVID-19 vaccine have been administered in Lambton County since the beginning of the immunization rollout on January 26 (11,402 first doses, 1,251 second doses). This number represents over 10 percent of the eligible population in Lambton County and five times the number of people who have had COVID-19 in the community.

Our local Call Centre will be open one extra day this week to assist – Saturday, March 20 from 8:30am to 4:30pm. Please contact us should you run into any issues with the pre-registration system at 519-383-8331.

Individuals who are 80+ years of age and older (or who are turning 80 this year) are still permitted to book their immunization appointments directly using the new online Provincial Booking System.
