Safe Disposal of Sharps and Medication

About Safe Disposal of Sharps and Medication

Unused and expired medications are often left lying around homes and can be dangerous. Medication, when improperly stored, can be taken accidentally, misused, or taken by a child or pet unknowingly and can cause serious illness or even death. It can also cause environmental damage when medications are flushed or thrown in the garbage. Proper disposal is an important step in reducing risk of harms, especially with children and youth and can help keep our whole community safer.

Lambton Public Health and Safe Disposal
