Prenatal Education
Prenatal education is available through interactive virtual classes. Prenatal classes help expectant moms and their support partner(s) prepare for labour, childbirth, care for their baby, and the transition to parenthood. Classes are recommended around the 6th and 7th month of pregnancy. Daytime and evening classes are available. It is recommended to have both the birther and support person(s) present, if possible.
In this class, Public Health Nurses will provide education on: labour positions, breastfeeding, latching and positioning, baby bathing, and how to prepare a support plan for when the baby arrives.
Classes run the first two Wednesdays of each month. For information on how to attend, contact us by email at familyhealthline@county-lambton.on.ca. Please include your name and your support person(s) name. Please call the Family Health Line for other inquiries at 519-383-3817.
